Chinese wire rod imports stood at 39700 t in Dec 2011

According to the data released by CISA (China Iron and Steel Association), Chinese registered steelmakers contributed a daily crude steel output of 1.4919 million metric tons in early January, up 0.49 percent compared to December 2011. Meanwhile, Chinese average daily crude steel output was estimated to stand at 1.6906 million metric tons in early January, up by 3.94 percent versus early December 2011.

In December of 2011, China imported 3300 t of reinforcing steel bar, dropping by 45% month over month and 43.78% year over year. On the other hand, Chinese reinforcing steel bar exports came to 15700 t, soaring by 24.08% month over month and 47.27% year over year. Besides, Chinese wire rod imports stood at 39700 t, increasing by 2% month over month while decreasing by 34.87% year over year. Meanwhile, Chinese wire rod exports reached 0.2108 million t, down 35.65% month over month while up 44.8% year over year.
